An outstanding Louis XVI style demi-lune commode, with exceptionally high quality French workmanship, late 19th century – circa 1875. Stained marquetry ‘à la reine de bois des îles’ central panel depicting a still life, front opening with two drawers; very richly chased gilt-bronze ornamentation of Antique figures on pilasters in relief. Channelled marble top that follows the general movement of the piece.
